About the role
This is a mid level project manager post with UNOPS Somalia, based in Garoowe. The employer is UNOPS, working through its Somalia office, and the post sits within the Sustainable Land Management in Puntland project funded by Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW), Germany. The contract is an ICA - IICA - Regular appointment at IICA 2 level, ICS 10, running for 36 months subject to organizational requirements, availability of funds and satisfactory performance.
What you will do
- Lead the delivery of the infrastructure components of the Sustainable Land Management in Puntland project.
- Support water infrastructure and soil conservation measures, including biological and physical works.
- Contribute to land use, agriculture, livestock and water management activities in project communities.
- Support capacity enhancement for communities and relevant government institutions.
- Work within the nine month inception phase to help establish technical, social, environmental and institutional foundations.
- Contribute to the implementation phase through targeted infrastructure investments, livelihood support and capacity building.
What you need
- Experience at mid level in project management.
- Experience relevant to infrastructure project delivery.
- Contract level IICA 2 and ICS level 10 apply to the post.
