Construction AI assistant
Ask about open tenders, jobs, construction projects, contractors, material prices, and building codes and laws. The answer comes from our own records, and every line names its source.
Answer
Ask a question, or pick one of the examples.
A model may add a short summary of the records it is given.
What it is for
A quick way into the site’s records: the tenders and jobs board, the project database, contract awards, material price observations, and the codes and laws pages. It points you to the record and its source; it does not replace reading them.
How it works
- Your question is read for what you want (tenders, jobs, projects, contractors, a price, a rule) and for a place, a material or a trade.
- The matching records are fetched from the site’s database. If nothing matches, it says so instead of guessing.
- Each line of the answer carries a numbered source: a page of this site, or the official source stored with the record.
- When a model is configured, it may add a summary of those same records and nothing else. It is configured.
Assumptions
- A place is recognised from the site’s list of places in Somaliland, Puntland and Somalia; other places are not.
- “This week” means the next seven days from today; “this month”, the next thirty.
- Contractors are the firms named as awarded bidders in World Bank contract award notices; other funders are not covered yet.
Example
Asking “Cement price in Hargeisa” returns the recorded cement observations for Hargeisa, newest first, each with the factsheet table it came from, and says that one district figure is not a market price.
Limitations
- It answers only from what the site holds. A missing record means we have not documented it, not that it does not exist.
- It is not legal, engineering or financial advice, and it never certifies, approves or rates anyone.
- Questions are not stored. When a model is configured, your question and the matching records are sent to it to write the summary. To keep the tool available for everyone there is a limit of at most 12 questions every 10 minutes from one connection.
