  • Carry out safety audits to identify hazards, operational risks and baseline conditions across facilities.
  • Handle safety-related issues and facility repairs, and help schedule preventive maintenance to reduce health and safety risks.

  • Work with management, schools and mission heads to develop, update and enforce health and safety procedures, policies and safeguarding plans.
  • Make sure facilities and health and safety policies comply with local and national laws and aim at international standards where appropriate.
  • Deliver training on facilities management and health and safety policies so staff understand and follow them.
  • Monitor compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations and keep documentation, checklists and training records up to date.
  • Prepare safety reports and audit summaries, coordinate emergency preparedness such as fire drills and first-aid teams, and document incident reporting and investigations.

What you need

  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience and knowledge in facility management, health and safety, and compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Strong report writing, documentation and policy and procedures writing skills.
  • Ability to complete detailed internal audits and support compliance reviews.
  • Effective presentation and training skills, including chairing meetings and presenting to management.
  • A motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic, who is proactive, solves problems, follows through and works as part of a team.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel, and in reporting tools.

If something here is wrong

The notice governs, not this page. Where the two disagree, the notice is right, and the desk wants to know: tell the desk and the entry is corrected or taken down the same day. An entry is also taken down at the request of the body that issued it.
